Zorro

Who Was That Masked Juror?

By Richard Carreno
[Writers Clearinghouse News Service]
I was among 39 jurors selected for a jury pool last week -- plus Zorro. Or, maybe Zorrina. In other words, Jury No. 40 was in full-blown black hajib, mask and all.

While France seems to think that the masked look -- most preferred for bank robberies and Halloween kiddie trick 'n treat occasions -- is not the latest fashion look, it seems that that the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia is OK with the Zorro look.

The court, yes. Lawyers, no.

The female African American Muslim wasn't picked.

Good thing. Imagine getting justice from the Lone Ranger. Rangerette.
