Disaster, Anyone?

The marquee above the shuttered Boyd Theatre, on Chestnut between 19th and 20th, has been rotting as long -- or longer -- than old playhouse has been closed. Almost ten years?

Besides being unattractive, the marquee is a disaster in waiting! Thankfully, winter snows have been light. Otherwise, the added stress and weight could well have toppled the marquee to the street below.

Here's a warning: Cross the street! I know, I know. Then, you'll have to encounter the bums in front of the state liquor shop. Better hit up than smacked down.
