Letters: A New Tate?
Think it's an excellent idea, Richard. Last week I heard the new Barnes referred to as "the new Musee d'Orsay," so why not a new Tate too?
Cheers

Philadelphia::14 June 2008Thomas--Many thanks for yr thorough report on the Parkway. I'm heartened that many of my 'lightbulbs' -- and I thought they were original with me! -- are being switched on those in charge. One idea for the Family Court Building: It should be the new site of a modern art museum operated by the Art Museum -- something like the Tate Modern. The Museum's modern art collection now has a back seat, and siting it in its own dedicated space nearby the new Barnes would be a brilliant stroke. Psst! Pass it on.Richard Carreño
