Yvonne Barteau disclosaes her secret to building better horse relationships. Analyzing equine charateristics is only half the challenge, she contends. Just as important is understanding how the personalties of the rider and the trainer can affect each horse. Armed with knowledge, Barteau says, the rider can work more effectively with a currently-owned horse or with a prospective purchase.

Yvonne Barteau is an International Federation for Equestrian Sports-certified trainer. She has trained horses for the US Equestrian Team. She lives and works in the Chicago area.
