Announces a Special
Summer Event
In the East Oak Lane Neighborhood of
Philadelphia
Sunday, August 12, 2012
at 1:00 PM
The event will begin with a luncheon at the charming
Under the Oak Cafe at 804 Oak Lane.
We will spend an hour dining hosted by Cafe owner Kelly McShain and
resident Marita Krivda who will give us a brief introduction to the predominantly Victorian
neighborhood and one of our city’s great architectural
resources.
After lunch, we will take a another hour to tour some of the
highlights of East Oak Lane
to include the historic and picturesque Tavern dating from circa
1683,and indeed one of the most unique sites in all of
Philadelphia.
Here are
the Directions to East Oak Lane and to the Cafe
Head North on Broad Street past Olney Avenue and turn right onto
66th Avenue.
Travel three blocks to Lawnton Avenue and turn right up to Oak Lane
where you turn right again to the Café which is just past 10th
Street on the right side.
The
luncheon will be Prix Fix - $20.00 to include tax and gratuity
The tour
itself is free, but a modest tax deductable contribution to Save Our Sites would
be appreciated.
