Andrew Carreño R.I.P.



Andrew M. Carreño, 89 of Canton, GA, formerly of Montville, NJ died peacefully at his home in Canton, GA on Wednesday August 22.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street in Boonton at 9 am. Then to Saint Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Montville for the Funeral Mass at 10am. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover. Visiting will be Monday from 3-7 pm. Mr. Carreño was born in New York, and lived in Montville before moving and retiring in Georgia. He was the co-owner of Carreño & O'Neil Shipping Co., Inc. of Lower Manhattan for many years before retirement.

 Mr. Carreño proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific Conflict during World War II. While in the service, he was awarded the American Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Word War II Victory Medal. Andrew was an avid swimmer and enjoyed spending time with his family. Loving his family and watching them grow brought him the greatest joy.

Andrew was the loving son the late Toribio and Maria Elena Carreño. Beloved husband of 65 years of Eda J. Carreño (nee Lopardo). Devoted father of James. J (Jim) and his wife Marianne, Anita M. Bineau and her husband Jim, and Andrea Arnett and her husband John. Cherished grandfather of 11. Great Grandfather of eight. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
