Airline Greed

Dear Mr. Loftus,
Thank you for your e-mail to Delta Air Lines.

While we would like to offer special consideration in cases such as yours, we are unable to honour the many similar requests that we receive from others in equally deserving situations. We follow a consistent policy to ensure that we are fair to everyone who travels with us. Accordingly, we must respectfully decline your request.

Again, thank you for writing. We appreciate your selection of Delta and will always welcome the opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

Mark Mckenzie

Both my wife and I are SkyMiles members and carry the Delta AmEx card.We are very disappointed in Delta's decision to charge $25 per bag which increases the price of each trip we take with Delta by $100. In a few weeks we will be traveling round trip to Nashville and will be flying Southwest Airlines (normally we would be flying Delta), primarily because of its zero charge for luggage. Nothing annoys us more than this damnable luggage fee and you need to know how the flying public feels about it. Until you drop this charge we
will only be flying the two airlines that are wise and sensable enough not to have it -- JetBlue and Southwest.
PLEASE DROP THIS LUGGAGE FEE!!! The sooner the better!

Thanks fot gettingback to me. Just to clarify, I am not  asking for any kind  of special treatment here as far as waiving the baggage fees which have been imposed on ALL passengers. My message to you and to Delta Airlines is this -- -as a long-standing customer who has flown many times with Delta, I  highly resent these fees. They are just another example of "airlline greed" that nickels and dimes passengers at every opportunity. This was the final straw as far as I'm concerned. You just lost over $500 of business from us as we elected to fly Southwest to Nashville and return. We are retired and travel frequently, but as long as this baggage fee is in effect we will NOT fly Delta, instead opting for  those carriers -- Southwest and JetBlue -- that  DO NOT  charge a baggage fee.

If and when Delta drops the fee,  we would then consider returning to your airline. Please keep in mind that a  lot  of the flying public has the same mindset. You folks at Delta need to get this feedback loud and clear!

                        Sincerely,
                            Jonathan Loftus
